This cropped bomber jacket is a terrific throwback to the 80s. I live in a warm climate and do not typically have a need for a heavy coat. This fully lined garment is made of a thin, yet sturdy polyester. The liner is stitched into the actual coat very well with tight and clean lines and no stray or frayed material. The fabric is lightweight enough to wear during the fall and winter seasons and will keep me comfortable without feeling too hot. Both the liner and the outerwear are made of polyester. This type of fabric is very soft and comfy against the skin. It does have a tendency to wrinkle, but most blend into the pleats of the bomber coat. Any remaining, use an iron on either steam heat or the very lowest setting to smooth them. Once dry, I use a wrinkle releaser spray that is a great help. A hand wash or delicate cycle wash and line dry are recommended for the wash and dry process.
I ordered the coffee color which is a rich brown shade that is quite neutral so that the outfit can be paired with a variety of patterns, designs and fabrics in coordinating colors that are not too "matchy-matchy". I like to wear a casual blouse underneath the jacket with a mid-level collar that is seen but does not distract away from the piece. It is the puffy bubble bottom waistline hem as well as the sleeves that take this piece from plain windbreaker to stylish and trendy outerwear. While this puffy coat may not be suitable for a conservative professional office, it is a great option to wear at home, at a party, out to dinner, or shopping. I had a touch of concern that the puffy hem would create the illusion of a short waist I was pleased that the curve in the hem breaks up what could have potentially resulted in a "boxy" look. The main description categorizes this garment as "cropped". While the length is shorter than most jackets, the cut is not a true crop. It hits just at and below the waistline. Most women will also be pleased that the puffy bubble hem does not add volume to the waistline or hips. It has a relaxed fit which I like and find to be most comfortable in outerwear.
With a center zipper front, you have options to wear this bomber coat unzipped, partially zipped or fully zipped. The zipper works pretty well but can snag in just a couple of spots. I recommend waxing the zipper and/or zipping both up and down very slowly and carefully.
This is an incredibly stylish and fun lightweight bubble hem bomber coat that can be worn in most settings and likewise, paired with most outfits. This is a quality well-crafted design that I expect to be durable for at least a few seasons. The current price point is an incredible value for a statement piece you will use again and again.
